Get Counseled 101

Often, due to my social work background, I am consulted by friends and family on seeking counseling services. And through my conversations with these people, I have learnt some things that I think we all would do well to know. We live in an age where ‘taking help’ from professionals is becoming increasingly accepted. This trend is giving birth to the rise of this unique population that I would like to call ‘professional-help receivers’. And like any category of people, the ‘professional-help receivers’ are faced with some unique problems/quandaries that are almost exclusively their own. So this series of blogs is an attempt to address some of the issues that face ‘professional-help receivers’.

  1. AH, you have raised my interest and my eyebrows on “professional help-receivers” – I think I know the type in my own world- and will be curious to see how this plays out in yours. 🙂

Thank you! You have reminded me that I have left these pages empty for far too long.
